Teriyaki Sauce

  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup rice vinegar
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • 1" piece lemon peel
  • 1/4 cup white wine
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1" piece ginger root, crushed


  1. Combine the soy sauce, wine, vinegar, sugar, garlic, ginger and lemon peel in a saucepan. Bring to a boil on the sideburner of your barbecue, and simmer until the sauce is reduced by about half and is quite thick. Cool and remove the garlic, ginger root, and lemon peel.
